On the afternoon of February 21st of 2008, the 2007 session of annual meeting & symposium of our institute was held in the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, which was participated in by over 40 members of our institute. The participants heard the keynote report made by Dr. Ziheng Cao, secretary-general of our institute on the review of affairs and work of our institute during 2007, and on the general planning over work in 2008. Then all the participants made extensive and probing academic discussion over various issues centered on the topic of “European Situation in 2008 and China-Europe Relation in 2008”, including such issues as Lisbon Treaty, economic circumstances of Europe, China-Europe relation, Asia-Europe relation, China-Germany relation, and dispute between UK and Russia.
