On September 9th, Ambassador Xuexian Wang, the high-ranking Chinese official of Asia-Europe Meeting, and Prof. Hong Zhou, senior researcher and dean of European Studies Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, came to Shanghai and made speeches, at the joint invitation from our institute, Shanghai Association for International Studies, European and Asian Studies Institute of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, and Shanghai Institute for International Studies. Ambassador Wang made a speech entitled “Process of Asia-Europe Meeting and China”, with a practical focus on history and problems this mechanism, and the planned slogans, issues, and accomplishments of this year’s session of Asia-Europe Meeting. Prof. Zhou made an introduction on the recent adjustment of EU’s foreign relation, which was entitled “European Integration and China-Europe Relation”, based on his opinion that the long-term continuation of disputes between China and Europe will become a trend of China-Europe relation in the future.
