On January 25th, the SIES 2010 session of annual meeting was held in Tongji University. The meeting was jointly sponsored by German academic center of Tongji University and Institute of Germany Studies /Institute of EU Studies. Over 60 experts and scholars on European Studies from different schools and institutes in Shanghai were invited to join the event. Followed by Prof. Li Lezeng, Deputy Director of German academic center of Tongji University and Prof. Dai Bingran, president of SIES gave their speeches respectively on behalf of sponsor and organizer of the event, Dr. Cao Ziheng, vice-president and secretary general of SIES made a review of SIES’s work in 2010 and put forward the working plan in 2011. During the following symposium of “Europe and EU-China relation in the transition of international system”, experts and scholars had fruitful discussion on current international structure change, especially on the impact of European sovereignty debt towards its international status, the relations between Europe and main global powers including China, and the change of European policy in politics, economy, diplomacy and other areas. Ms. Wang kemei, Deputy Section Chief of Academic Society Section, Shanghai Social Sciences Association attended the meeting and made a passionate speech as well.
