On the afternoon of September 26th, three high ranking Hungarian diplomats, including Hungarian Consul General László Kuti and Hungarian Consul Valentin Nagy-Simek, paid a visit to Shanghai Institute for European Studies, and conferred with a group of Chinese scholars over the topics commonly concerned by both Hungarian and Chinese scholars, such as China-EU relation and China-Hungary relation. On Chinese side, the participants of this conference included Professor Dai Bingran and Professor Wu Yikang, the president and honorable president of our institute, Professor Xu Mingqi, Professor Yang Ye, Dr. Cao Ziheng, and Madam Ye Yuming. Both Chinese and Hungarian participants agreed that the China-EU relation is now confronted with a series of challenges and threats against current turbulent and elusive situations worldwide, and that China and Europe still share much common interests. They emphasized that more effort shall be made to strengthen further communications, exchanges, and cooperation between the governments, businesses, and academics of both sides so that the China-Europe strategic partnership can be promoted and developed to a higher stage. On this conference, some discussion is made over the economic and trade relation between China and Hungary, particularly the issues related to the mutual investment by the small and medium businesses of both countries, with opinions and insights of both sides exchanged.
