This is the conference hall of the 2011 annual conference & symposium of Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES)

On the afternoon of December 29th, 2011, the 2011 Annual Conference & Symposium of Shanghai Institute for European Studies was held in the Shanghai International Studies University. This annual conference & symposium was organized by the Shanghai International Studies University and attended by nearly 70 experts and scholars from various universities, research centers, and other academic institutions of Shanghai that are involved in European studies. Divided into two sessions, this annual conference & symposium was presided first by Professor Yikang Wu, the honorable president of SIES, and then by Professor Shaolei Feng, the vice president of SIES. The first session was opened by the welcoming speeches presented by Professor Bingran Dai, the current president of SIES, and Mr. Deming Cao, the president of the Shanghai International Studies University. Then Mr. Ziheng Cao, vice president & secretary-general of SIES reported the conditions, activities, and performance of SIES in the year 2011 and its schedule for the year 2012. In the second session, keynote speeches focused on “Europe in the Transitional International System: Challenges & Trends” were made by six eminent scholars of European studies, namely, Mrs. Qixiu Dai, Mr. Chun Ding, Mr. Yiwei Wang, Mr. Chunrong Zheng, Mr. Yunshang Xiao, and Mr. Hua Xin. After keynote speeches, over 10 experts, researchers, and scholars presented their comments and opinions, which was followed by enthusiastic discussions and debates.
