On November 6th 2014, the 2014 Annual Academic Meeting of the Shanghai Circles of Social Sciences was held in the Friendship Hall of the Shanghai Exhibition Center, with a focus on the topic of “the All-Around Deepening of Reforms and the Governance of Modern State”. Four papers written by four members of SIES were selected into the anthology of this meeting, namely: the Characteristics of the EU Governance Model and Its Enlightenments to China, written by Prof. Wu Yikang, the EU Regional Governance after the European Debt Crisis: a Continuation to Promote the Constructions on the Integration Mechanisms, written by Prof. Xu Mingqi, the Changes of Germany’s Economic and Social Governance Models and its Enlightenments to China, written by Ding Chun, the Experiences of Germany’s Social Governance and its Enlightenments to China: a Case Study on its Technological Standardization, written by Prof. Zheng Chunrong, and the Experiences of Germany’s Governance for Handling the Aging of its Society and its Enlightenments to China: a Cass Study on its Nursing Care Insurance, written by Prof. Wang Zhiqiang. These four papers won the prizes of this meeting for excellent papers.
