The Symposium on “Comparisons between Germany and Japan on Their Views of Responsibilities of Historical Sins” was held

    On the afternoon of November 27th of 2014, SIES organized the symposium on the “Comparisons between Germany and Japan on Their Views of Responsibilities of Historical Sins”, jointly with the Shanghai Association of the Research of World History, the Shanghai Association on UN Studies, the Shanghai Association of International Strategic Studies, in the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences. This symposium was presided by Prof. Pan Guang, the president of the Shanghai Association of the Research of World History and adviser to SIES, Prof. Yu Jianhua, vice president of the Shanghai Association of the Research of World History. Four lectures on the topics of “Japan’s Views on Its Responsibility of Historical Sins”, “Germany’s Views on Its Responsibility of Historical Sins”, “Views of Responsibilities of Historical Sins from the Perspective of International Law”, and “the Nazi Holocaust and the Views on the Responsibilities of the Historical Sins” were made respectively by the Prof. Wang Shaopu, Director of the Japanese Studies Center of the Shanghai Jiaotong University, Prof. Meng Zhongjie, vice dean of the History Department of the East China Normal University, and Prof. Zhou Hongjun of the East China University of Law and Political Science, and Prof. Wang Shuming of the Shanghai Jewish Studies Center.
