On the afternoon of the October 12th, the academic conference on the “Ideological Trends of the Transitional Countries within the Geographical Framework of the ‘One Belt One Road’” was held in the Donghua University. This conference was sponsored by the Shanghai Association for the Studies on Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia, organized by the Donghua University, and co-organized by the Shanghai Association for International Studies, the Shanghai Association for the World History Studies, and the Shanghai Institute for European Studies. The participating scholars discussed the major ideological trends emerging from Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Latin America during their social transitions, such as nationalism, socialism, liberalism, and popularism. They also made exploring discussions and debates over the influences of these trends and the possibilities of China’s cooperation with these countries and regions within the framework of the “One Belt One Road” initiative. Nearly 50 experts and scholars from various universities and other academic institutions of Shanghai turned up on this conference.
