On the afternoon of Nov. 1st, the SIES, together with the college of International relations of Fudan University, held a special seminar in the college, on the topic of “Geopolitics and Power Politics with European Characteristics——EU Global Strategy”. Sven Biscop, professor of Belgian royal institute of international relations delivered a keynote speech. Also, he conducted a deep discussion with scholars, including Asad Beg, chief of political news and information of the EU delegations to China. Over 40 SIES members were present at the seminar, including Xu Mingqi, Chen Zhimin, Ye Jiang, Ding Chun, Xin Hua, Jian Junbo, Zhang Ji, Cao Ziheng, Ye Yuming and Yang Haifeng. The seminar was part of the academic month activities of Shanghai Association of Social Sciences and part of the China-Europe open speech, which was supported by the Association, EU delegation to China and AETS Consulting Firm.
