On the morning of Nov. 20th, the 8th Shanghai Youth Forum of European Studies and the awarding ceremony of 2016 Shanghai excellent papers of youth in European studies was held at the Shanghai Institute of International Issues. The meeting was presided by Dr. Yang Haifeng, vice secretary general of SIES. Nearly 70 young scholars and 10 experts from local universities were present. In the meeting, Dr. Cao Ziheng, secretary general of SIES, briefed about the examination of excellent youth papers in European studies this year and announced the winners. Then the leaders including Wu Yikang, Dai Bingran, Xu Mingqi, Chen Zhimin and Ye Jiang gave certificates and awards to the winners.
After the ceremony, there held a youth forum on “Interpretation on EU Global Strategy”. Dr. Yang gave an introduction on the current status of the study first. Then, 4 scholars, including Xin Hua, Jian Junbo, Dai Yichen and Long Jing, expressed views from angles. Winners Fan Yiyang and Li Jiadong had a discussion at the meeting.
