The SIES held a Symposium on “the One Belt and One Road: Security Risk Assessments and Resilience”

    On March 1st, 2017, the Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES) held a symposium on “the One Belt and One Road: Security Risk Assessments and Resilience”, together with Center for One Belt One Road Studies of the Fudan University, at the conference hall of the Center for American Studies of the Fudan University. On this symposium, scholars discussed the possible risks and challenges existing in the specific regions, such as Mediterranean area, Balkans, Middle East, Russia and Pakistan. They also explored practicable measures for China, Serbia, and other countries to cooperate and jointly handle these risks and challenges. Prof. ZHANG Jiadong, director of the Center for One Belt and One Road of the Fudan University, presided the symposium. The SIES President XU Mingqi and Mr. Vladimir Bozovic, Advisor for Serbian Prime Minister, made opening addresses. Prof. SHEN Dingli, deputy dean of the School of International Studies of the Fudan University, made concluding remarks. The Serbian guests participating in this symposium included: Prof. Dr. Ivica Radovic, Dean of the Faculty of Security Studies, University of Belgrade, Prof. Zoran Dragisic, Member of the Serbian Parliament, and Prof. Dr. Darko Trifunovic, Director of Center for National and International Security, and Member of the Faculty of Security Studies, University of Belgrade. This symposium was also participated in by the Director of the Asian Center for the Warsaw School of Economics and the Co-Director of Security and Crisis Management Program of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences. The Chinese participants of this symposium were: Prof. DING Chun, Dircetor of the Center for European Studies at the Fudan University, Dr. CAO Ziheng, Secretary-General of the SIES, and Dr. YANG Haifeng, Deputy Secretary-General of the SIES.
