On June 30th and July 1st, the book launch for the Annual Report on Development of Germany (2017) and the 16th annual conference of the German Studies Branch of the Chinese Association of European Studies was held in the Tongji University. Actually the book launch and the annual conference were integrated into a two-day academic symposium on “Germany and Its Relations with China against the Background of Turbulences in Europe”. This symposium was jointly sponsored and organized by the Center for German Studies of Tongji University and the German Studies Branch of the Chinese Association of European Studies. This symposium was participated in by over 60 scholars and experts, who made discussions and exchanged ideas on the approaching general election in Germany, the domestic situations of Germany, the current conditions and future trends of the European Union and Germany’s role in it, U.S. President Trump’s impacts on Germany and the Europe, and the latest developments of Germany-China relations.
