On October 24th 2017, the symposium on “the Post-General Election Germany and China’s OBOR Initiative” was held in the Shanghai Institute of International Studies (SIIS). This symposium was jointly sponsored and organized by Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES) and Shanghai Institute of International Studies (SIIS). Opening addresses were made by Mr. YANG Jiemian, director of the academic committee of SIIS, and Mr. Rainer Stinner, former MP of Germany. The whole process of this symposium was moderated and presided by Ms. ZAHNG Yinghong, director of the European studies center of SIIS. In-depth discussions and debates were made on the topics concerning the relations between world economy and China’s OBOR initiative, the September 24th election in Germany, and the China-Europe relations.
