On the afternoon of November 30th 2017, a lecture event on “Europe Today” was held in the Shanghai Institute of International Studies (SISS). This event was jointly sponsored and organized by SIIS and Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES). The lecture was made by Mr. Jean-Christophe Belliard, deputy secretary-general of the European External Action Service (EEAS) on the topic of “Europe Today”. After the lecture, he exchanged opinions and ideas with audience, who are Shanghai scholars of European studies. This event was presided by Prof. XU Mingqi, president of SIES. The participants of this event included: Mr. Asad Beg, minister councilor and head of political, press, and information section of the EU delegation to China, CAO Ziheng, JI Lei, SHI Chenxia, SONG Lilei, XIN Hua, YANG Haifeng, ZHANG Haibing, ZHANG Pei, ZHANG Yinghong, and other EU officials and well-known scholars of European studies in Shanghai.
