On the afternoon of January 18th 2018, Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES) organized and operated a symposium on “the China-UK Relations in the ‘New Era’” in the Asia-Pacific Hall of the Shanghai Institute of International Studies (SIIS), in collaboration with the European Studies Center of SIIS. The participants of this symposium made in-depth discussions on the issues related to the Brexit negotiations between UK and EU, the re-definition of UK’s position in the whole world after Brexit, the new positioning of China-UK relations in this “new era”, and the opportunities for international city-to-city cooperation between London and Shanghai.
