SIES Signed a Referendum of Cooperation with the Latvian Institute of International Affairs

On May the 28^th, 2018, two Latvian scholars from the Latvian Institute of International Affairs (LIIA) visited the Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES). They are: Prof.Andris Spruds, the LIIA’s Director, and Dr. Una Aleksandra Bērziņa-Čerenkova, the Chief of its “New Silk Road” Program. Prof. Andris and Dr. Una exchanged ideas and opinions with Shanghai scholars over the topics related to the Latvian diplomacy, the “16+1” cooperation, and the “Belt and Road” Initiative. The participants of this meeting included: Dr. CAO Ziheng, Prof. DING Chun, Prof. GAO Xiaochuan, Prof. SONG Lilei, Prof. XIN Hua, and Dr. YANG Haifeng. Latvian scholars and executive leadership of SIES reached a consensus on how to strengthen their bilateral cooperation and exchanges. And then a referendum of cooperation was signed between the SIES and LIIA.
