On the afternoon of May 28th, 2019, the book launch for the Chinese and English version of the “The Belt and Road” and Central and Eastern Europe and the Seminar on “Prospects of the China-Central and Eastern Europe Cooperation” were held in the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS). Mr. YANG Jiemian, director of the academic research committee of the SIIS chaired this book launch and seminar, and Ambassador HUO Yuzhen, Special Representative for the China-Central and Eastern Europe Cooperation made a keynote address on the seminar. On this seminar, presentations were made by Prof. XU Mingqi, President of the Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES), Mr. YANG Guoqiang, former Chinese Ambassador to Latvia and Adviser to SIES, Prof. CUI Hongjian, Dean of the European Studies Institute of the China Institutes of International Relations, Prof. ZHU Xiaozhong, senior research fellow of the Research Institute of Russia, Central and Eastern Europe, and Central Asia of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and Dr. LONG Jing, Deputy Director of the Center for European Studies of the SIIS.
