On 8 May 2020, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-EU diplomatic relations and the 70th anniversary of the Schumann Declaration, the SIES held the ceremony of the establishment of the Academic Committee for EU studies and discussion meeting on the European economy and China-EU economic relations under the epidemic. Experts attending the meeting believed that the EU, which had been hit hard by the Coronavirus epidemic, was faced with the realistic challenge of reviving the economy and other more deep-seated problems such as the intensified redistribution of wealth and the widening gap between regions. China-EU relations also face new challenges, but through initiative, both sides can seize and create more opportunities to upgrade our bilateral relations.
