On the afternoon of September 28, 2020, the SIES held an enlarged leadership meeting. The participants of this meeting were: President XU Mingqi, Vice Presidents Liu Jun, YANG Fengmin, YE Jiang, ZHENG Chunrong, Secretary General YANG Haifeng, Vice Secretaries General Dai Qixiu, Shang Yuhong, Zhang Yinghong, former President WU Yikang, Honoary President DAI Bingran. The participants heard Secretary General’s report on this year’s work and discussed the major work in the next phase.
In the past few months of this year, the institute overcame the adverse impact of COVID-19 and held the conferences and other academic activities through cooperation with other institutes. The institute issued China Policies of the EU and Its Members (2019) and the comments on the pandemic in Europe in the column of Observers SIES. The activities and achievements are widely reported by local media.
In the next stage, the institute will hold discussion meetings on hotspot issues, promote the writing of the selected papers to congratulate the 30th anniversary of SIES, the biennial report on European economies and the European China Policies (2020), and hold the 2020 annual meeting in December.
