On January 8th, 2022, the “Symposium on the Trend of the Policy of Germany’s New Government towards China and Its Influence on the China-Europe Relations” was held in Shanghai.
It was jointly hosted and sponsored by the SIES, the Center for German Studies of the Tongji University, and the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies. Prof. Zheng Chunrong, Director of the Center for German Studies of the Tongji University presided over the opening session. SIES President Xu Mingqi made an opening address, while Mr. Shi Mingde, former Chinese ambassador to Germany, presented a keynote speech. Academic discussions were made both online and offline by over 30 scholars in Beijing and Shanghai, including Prof. Feng Zhongping, who is chairing the European Studies Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
