On May 14th, 2022, the Shanghai institute for European Studies (SIES) and the Center for China-Europe Relations of the Institute of International Studies at the Fudan University jointly sponsored and held the Launch and Symposium of the “Annual Report of Europe’s Policy towards China 2021” and the “Annual Report of the European Union’s Policy on Big Powers and Regions 2021”. This event of launch and symposium was jointly presided by Prof. Jian Junbo, deputy director of the Center for China-Europe Relations of Fudan University and Dr. Yang Haifeng, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Institute for European Studies. Opening and concluding remarks were made by several distinguished guests such as Prof. Chen Zhimin, Vice President of the Fudan University and Prof. Xu Mingqi, President of the Shanghai Institute for European Studies. Keynote speeches and presentations were made by members of the writing teams of these two annual reports, who made in-depth discussions on this symposium. In addition, senior researchers of European studies, who work in universities and other research institutions in Shanghai, were also invited to take part in this event. Altogether there were nearly one hundred scholars that participated in this launch and symposium.
