On the afternoon of March 19, 2025, the Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES) held an expanded leadership and Party building work meeting. President Ding Chun, Vice Presidents Wu Zhongyong, Shang Yuhong, Wu Huiping, Yu Jianhua, Zhang Yinghong, Secretary General Yang Haifeng, Supervisor Yang Fengmin, and Honorary Presidents Wu Yikang, Dai Bingran, Xu Mingqi, Vice Secretaries General Jian Junbo, Long Jing, Song Lilei, Director of Academic Research Department Xue Sheng, Director of Consulting and Training Department Zhu Yichen attended the meeting. The meeting deliberated on the key points of the SIES's work in 2025, the activity plan of party building work in 2025 and the action plan for cultivating young scholars in Country and Region Studies. The meeting also conducted collective study on the spirit of the Assembly of Heads of Academic Associations Conference of the Shanghai Federation of Social Science Associations in 2025. SIES’s vice president Wu Huiping explained the prospect of China-Germany relations. SIES’s director Xue Sheng also explained the prospect of China-France relations.
