On November 26, 2024, the Shanghai Institute for European Studies, the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) and the Shanghai Representative Office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) co-organized a symposium on “China-Europe Relations against the Background of the 2nd Trump Administration” at the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS). Xu Mingqi, Honorary President of the Shanghai Institute for European Studies, and Benjamin Reichenbach, Chief Representative of the Shanghai Representative Office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), delivered opening speeches, while Yang Haifeng, Secretary General of the Shanghai Institutes for European Studies, presided over the opening ceremony. Ingrid d'Hooghe, Gudrun Wacker and other experts from Europe and many scholars from Shanghai, such as Men Jing and Wu Huiping, participated in the meeting.
