Symposium on “The Impact of the 2024 European Parliament Elections on China-EU Relations” co-organized by the Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES)

On October 16, 2024, a symposium on “The Impact of the 2024 European Parliament Elections on China-EU Relations” was held in the Chinese-German Building of Tongji University. Co-organized by the Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES), the Center for German Studies of Tongji University and the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), the symposium was attended by more than 30 experts and scholars from Tongji University, Fudan University, East China Normal University, Shanghai International Studies University and SIIS. Prof. Ding Chun, President of the Shanghai Institute for European Studies, and Prof. Zheng Chunrong, Director of the Center for German Studies of Tongji University, delivered opening speeches. At the meeting, SIIS released a report in English and Chinese on “The Impact of the 2024 European Parliament Elections on China-EU Relations”. Participating experts discussed the impact of the European Parliament election on European, German and French politics, as well as China-European, China-German and China-French relations.
