On July 4, 2024, Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES), Shanghai Center for International Economic Exchanges(SCIEE), and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Shanghai Representative Office co-organised a roundtable dialogue on “New Productivity and New Rebalancing - The New Dynamics of China's Economic Development Model and Its Global Implications” at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS). Xu Mingqi, Honorary President of SIES and Vice Chairman of SCIEE, and Benjamin Reichenbach, Chief Representative of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Shanghai Representative Office, delivered welcome remarks and summarised the conference. Focusing on the interpretation of "new productivity" and the impact of the new rebalancing on China and the West, the conference invited Xu Mingqi, Vice Chairman of SCIEE, Philipp Böing, Professor of Goethe University Frankfurt and Senior Researcher of “Economics of Innovation and Corporate Dynamics” of the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim, Sebastian Dullien, Research Director of the Macroeconomic Policy Institute and Professor for International Economics at the HTW Berlin - University of Applied Sciences, and Ding Chun, President of SIES and Director of Centre for European Studies of Fudan University to make keynote speeches. Nearly 20 experts, scholars and postgraduates, including Jiang Yunfei, Long Jing, Peng Xiao, Shang Yuhong, Yan Shaohua, Yang Haifeng, Yang Zhengzhen, Zhang Yinghong, Zhu Yichen, etc., participated in the conference.
