On June 19, 2024, jointly organized by Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES), Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Shanghai Representative Office, the international seminar on “International Order after the 2024 European Parliament Election - China and Europe's Perspectives” was held in Shanghai Institutes for International Studies. Long Jing, Deputy Director of the Center for European Studies of Shanghai Institutes of International Studies, presided over the seminar. Chen Dongxiao, President of Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, and Benjamin Reichenbach, Chief Representative of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Shanghai Representative Office, delivered opening speeches respectively. This meeting focuses on the 2024 European Parliament election, the trend of contemporary world order and China-EU relations. Metin Hakverdi, Member of the German Parliament, Zhang Yinghong, Director of the Center for European Studies of Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, Marina Rudyak, Assistant Professor of China Studies at Heidelberg University, and Xu Mingqi, Honorary President of the Shanghai Institute for European Studies and Vice Chairman of Shanghai Center for International Economic Exchanges (SCIEE), made keynote speeches successively. Niels Hegewisch, China policy officer of the Asia-Pacific Department of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, and Marvin Müller, Project Manager of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Shanghai Representative Office, accompanied Mr. Hakverdi on his visit. Men Jing, Director of the Center for European Studies of East China Normal University, Yang Haifeng, Secretary General of the Shanghai Institute for European Studies, and Zhu Yichen, Director of the consulting department of SIES, Tong Liqun, Deputy Director of the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Institute of the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, Zhang Jian, Secretary General of the Center for World Political Parties and Politics, and Liu Kan, Huang Wenting and Jiang Zunze, researchers from the Center for European Studies, attended the meeting.
