On June 17, 2024, an academic seminar on “Characteristics and Influence of the 2024 European Parliament Election” was held in Fudan University, which was jointly organized by Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES), Shanghai Society of Political Science and the Dr. Seaker Chan Center for Comparative Political Development Studies of Fudan University. Professor Guo Dingping, President of Shanghai Society of Political Science and Director of the Dr. Seaker Chan Center for Comparative Political Development Studies of Fudan University, presided over the opening ceremony of this seminar. Professor Zhang Ji, Vice President of School of International Relations and Public Affairs of Fudan University, and Professor Ding Chun, President of Shanghai Institute for European Studies and Director of the Center for European Studies of Fudan University, delivered opening speeches respectively. On the 2024 European Parliament election, experts and scholars from Fudan University, Tongji University, East China Normal University, East China University of Political Science and Law, Shanghai International Studies University, Party School of Shanghai Committee of C.P.C. and Shanghai Institutes for International Studies engaged in lively and profound discussions about the election situation and voting results, and the trend of EU’s development and China-EU relations.
