On the afternoon of December 8, 2023, the Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES) and Shanghai International Studies University co-held the seminar on "Europe and Germany: Values or Power?" The event brought together approximately 20 experts and scholars, including Ding Chun, President of SIES, Jiang Feng, Party Secretary of Shanghai International Studies University, Cui Hongjian, Professor at the Regional and Country Studies Institute of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Li Hongtu, Professor in the Department of History at Fudan University, Wu Huiping, Associate Director of the German Research Center at Tongji University, Zhang Haiyang, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of "European Studies", and Hu Chunchun, Head of European Civilization Research at the Shanghai Academy of Global Governance & Area Studies at Shanghai International Studies University. The seminar was conducted through a combination of online and offline formats.
