On the afternoon of November 8, 2023, a conference on "Deepening and Developing
the Belt and Road under the Five Major Initiatives" was held in East China Normal
University, sponsored by the Shanghai Institute of Russian, Eastern European and
Central Asian Studies and co-sponsored by the Shanghai Institute for European
Studies (SIES) and the Shanghai Association for International Studies. Prof. Liu Jun, president of the Shanghai Association of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian
Studies and vice president of School of Politics and International Relations of East
China Normal University, and Prof. Ding Chun, president of the SIES and director of
Center for European Studies of Fudan University, delivered opening speeches
successively. Prof. Yu Jianhua, vice president of the SIES and senior researcher of
Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, made a summary of the meeting. The
conference is one of the cooperative inter-association academic activities of
Shanghai Federation of Social Science Association in 2023. Experts, scholars and
graduate students from Fudan University, East China Normal University, Shanghai
Institutes for International Studies, Tongji University, Shanghai Academy of Social
Sciences attended the conference.
