November 5-7, 2023, the 18th
Conference on "China-Europe and Cross-Strait Relations” was co-hosted by
the SIES, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies and
Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Shanghai Representative Office. The conference
consisted of five parts: Cross-Straits Relations and the Mainland's Taiwan
Policy, Europe's position on Taiwan, Taiwan Leadership Election in 2024 and its
Foreign Policy, Review and Prospect of China-Eu Relations, and Policy
Recommendations. More than 30 scholars from Germany, France, Poland, Hungary,
the United Kingdom and other European countries as well as domestic scholars
participated online and offline.
